I was browsing forums on the "One That Got Away" achievement, and found this post.
Captain's log, Day 17:
I have spent a total of 32 hours fishing for this catch to no avail. This is aside from the 9 hours that I spent trying for the 22lb Lobster and the 12 hours in Ironforge trying for Old Ironjaw and the 15lb Mudsnapper.
My obsession to become "Salty" has cost me my sanity. I pulled up a turtle mount, which was of little solace. I confess I would trade it in a heartbeat.
After a break to go to Dalaran to compelete a fishing quest, I even managed to pull up a Giant Rat. It seems that every other Achievement is possible to me besides this one.
The Dark Herring taunts me in my sleep. I wake to my own screams... -Fuzzybeard

Nonsense,
Now, if you'll just sign this contract here in your own blood, we'll get you that +40 fishing pole and some super-lures. Good, good...

That is awesome. It will also get easier soon to compelte Salty when they add a new fishing tournament. I think its in 3.3

I'm only about 4 hours total into my Dark Herring grind, and I don't have the mount yet so I think of it as working on two achievments at once. Thanks for the warning.
I don't suppose anyone knows a good "How to Win" post for the fishing tournament?

Thanks. I honestly have to admit that running to the quest turn in was the single biggest rush of adrenaline I've experienced playing WoW. After getting beaten out by a few seconds the week before, it felt good.
